- An appx. 14 mile loop can be done from the Lowell (Rotary Park) boat launch around South Ebey Island via the Snohomish River, Steamboat Slough, and Ebey Slough. A comment from a Facebook post: “The trick is to time your arrival at the confluence of Steamboat and Ebey slough with early flood. You may not get much of a push up Ebey, however, you wont have to fight the current either. If it’s been raining much, all bets are off.”
- Black River south of Olympia
- ~12 miles, generally very slow water, 5-7 hours, watch for underwater obstructions, includes a developed area but most shoreline is thick vegetation, and passes through the Black River Habitat Management Area
